"Surfer Heading Home" by Catherine Sherman.
A surfer on a Kauai beach carries his surfboard out of the waves and heads for home as the sun sets over Niihau on the horizon. In the distance storm clouds rain on Niihau.
Kauai, Hawaii, is known as the garden island and is one of the oldest of the Hawaiian islands. Niihau is known as the Forbidden Island and is not open to visitors.
