Description
Fanciful, brightly colored, decorative lizards appear to be crawling across the blazing sun set against a patterned blue sky. Lizards such as these are frequently seen as wall art or plaques made of painted metal. This surreal watercolor painting in a primitive, decorative style is designed to delight and brighten any home or office decor.
Lizards are amazing creatures. They are amphibians, from the words "amphi" for "double" and "bios" meaning "life". Amphibians do indeed lead a double life in that their lives are divided (not necessarily equally) between water and land. They usually spend at least a part of the second half of their lives on land.
Lizards have four legs, usually long tails (which in some lizards can break off when attacked, it will then regrow) dry skin and claws.Their long tails help them keep their balance and can also be used defensively. They have dry skin, claws and most have either a ruff around the neck,a crested back or spines. Their hearing is acute and they are very sensitive to subtle movement, feeling vibrations through their feet, tail and body. Cold blooded animals, lizards bask in the sun to warm their bodies and may appear to be sleeping - when they are actually waiting for insects to come near for them to eat.
Lizard as a totem animal is connected with the dreamtime, with learning how to detach (completely or partially) from things or people in our lives in order to try to realize our dreams.
This stylized artwork is wonderfully suited for any room, especially with a Southwest Decor, perfect for a sun room, Florida room, kitchen, dining room or living room,as well as in a restaurant, cafe, inn or office.
