Description
A cluster of pretty pink geraniums enjoying the peek-a boo-kisses of the late morning summer sunlight. It's widely known that geraniums tolerate full sun ... all sun all the time. And that's true. They take a bit of extra attention, but yes, they'll do well in full sun. But it's been my experience that they flourish when there's a bit of shade to rest in as well. At least here in the mid-Atlantic area when summer temperatures can be fierce. This particular plant is proof. In this section of the garden, a bit cooler, a bit shadier, my geraniums almost sing!
Loosely based on and hand-painted digitally from one of my own photos in Corel Painter.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

So very lovely!!! And a great bit of advice on geraniums. I have never had much luck with them. Thanks for that. Will try a bit less sun for them in the future. :) LF
Lois Bryan replied:
Angela, thank you so much!!! Another bit of advice ... though you'll read that they like "dry feet" and that may be true, but ... go ahead and give them some water. You'll be able to tell when they're thirsty, the leaves get sort of dull and soft and limp-ish ... you'll know you've waited too long if you see that, lol. When they're bright green and strong, you're on the right track. And of course plant food every couple of weeks ... but dilute it, not too strong. If you give them too much, they'll bloom their hearts out for you then start to die. I use Miracle Grow. Let me know if this helps!!

These softly textured pink geraniums are so gently and perfectly arranged with the evocative stone walls, Lois!
