Starry Night Forest Christmas, digital painting mixed media, by Michele Avanti.
A snowy night in the forest with a decorated and lit Christmas tree. The animals gather to see what is happening, red cardinals, bunnies, a curious deer and a squirrel, while a red fox sleeps high up in the tree. Inside the brightly lit star on the top of the Tannenbaum is an image of the nativity. Mother Mary holding the newborn Christ child.
I call it Starry Night because it is the night that the greatest star was born and thus I have made the snowflakes into stars.
This painting is created by numerous individual works layered together. It contains 7 layers in the background alone, then added to that are the various paintings of rabbits, fox, squirrel, birds, christmas tree, and the stained glass painting which I placed inside the star, it is made of seven layers. So there are about 23 different layers composited to create this image. Hope you enjoy it!
