Description
This photograph is of certainly one of the most iconic views of the French Quarter, (Vieux Carre) in New Orleans, Louisiana. It depicts Jackson square and the St. Louis Cathedral. The harmonious symmetry of the Spanish Cabildo, church, and Presbytere lies in the focal center of the image, while the early morning sun lights up the buildings and the clouds dance above it all. This is one of the final photographs I shot while I was in New Orleans, and it was only a matter a seconds before the sun would hide behind the clouds until mid-morning. Having woken up at 4:45 AM to photograph the Loyola University campus in the twilight hour, I drove east on St. Charles with my mind fixed on photographing this location. I am glad I made it right on time! Thanks for looking. FAA watermark will not show up on final printed image.
