Orange Euphoria
A stunted stand of trees believed to have been dead for 600-700 years in this deadvlei or "dead marsh". Deadvleis occur when once flowing water is cut off by the sand dunes, leaving behind a dry and cracked clay pan where nothing can continue to live. This photograph was taken in the Sossusvlei Desert in Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia.

Eerily beautiful. I love the bold orange, black and blue palette and the stark lines of the bare branches of the dead trees.
Stacie Gary replied:
Thank you for saying that Nikolyn. I'm glad I was able to portray that, because "eerily beautiful" is exactly what that place is.
