Description

This sensuous work is one of a series of images of beautiful ladies from a by-gone era, when the Ziegfeld Follies became the epitome of glamour and sophistication...and when "naughty" became "nice." This is a portrait of Ziegfeld Girl, Merle Finley. She was famous as the “Golden Girl of the Follies.”

Later when she was chosen out of 3000 applicants to star in Samuel Goldwyn’s 1930 movie, Whoopee! , and she was dubbed “The Most Beautiful Blond in Hollywood.” This ultimate Art Deco lady is after Alfred Cheney Johnston, who was the official photographer of the Ziegfeld Follies.

The original acrylic painting measures 18" by 24" has been sold. A signed and hand-embossed Masterpiece Edition can be commissioned which would be hand glazed with many layers of acrylic paint and varnish to really bring out the beautiful colors and create a three-dimensional effect.
