Painting - Alkyd On Canvas
In the early part of the twentieth century, most people still travelled by horse and sleigh during the winter, in the country. The roads were often not maintained well enough to allow for the use of the few automobiles that were in existence at that time, and everyone owned a horse and sleigh.
What could be nicer than the jingle of sleigh bells on the harness of the horses as they trotted briskly over the snow covered roadway? No distraction of radios, ringing cell phones or blaring CD players in those days!
