Description
These slave cabins occupy a small portion of the Magnolia Plantation Gardens near Summerville, SC. A quick tour of the interior of one of the cabins brings an austere visual of what life must've been like for slaves living in the tiny Spartan structures!

Suzanne, This is an interesting picture. The beauty of the magnolias is lovely to see and to almost feel and sniff. It is hard to believe (for me anyway) that my ancesters thought it was morally right to think they could OWN other human beings. The slave quarters remind us of that. Even though I had no part in the days of slave owning and slave trading and anything to do with it, I carry a sense of dishonor in my psche for unforgivable acts from generations before me. I hope i am not getting too philosphical. It is indeed a lovely picture.
