One of the many interesting sites in Joshua Tree National Park is Skull Rock which - the name says it all! - vaguely resembles a huge human skull.
This naturally weathered granite rock formation stares out across an otherworldly landscape of shattered boulders, tumbling tumbleweeds and eerily twisted Joshua trees.
More weird looking rock formations can be found along a 1.5 miles hike that winds to the south and north through boulders, desert washes, and a rocky alleyway. Passing giant, rounded rock formations makes one tempted to forget the trail and try to climb these big boulders that eerily resemble humans, dinosaurs, or monsters.
