I have this painting only in the form of a water color lithograph. It is much more subdued and gives the impression of Sir Galahad as a rather pensive, young man. Gone are the bright golds and ombres . They are replaced with a pale bluish tint and and the horse and his master are lit as if by a ray of sunlight that happened to fall upon them as if they are waiting for a decision. Truthfully,I prefer this rendition of the painting. The horse is his companion and Galahad, a young knight waiting to hear his fate. A much more innocent coloring,no rolling in the glory as the original would lead you to believe. I have always loved it.
