The Old Mill of Guilford grist mill, a historic grist mill in our area, recently rescued and adopted two kittens. This cat portrait is of Sifter, the male cat, and he and his sister Millie, were playing next to the old mill. The millstone is an old one that the owners placed next to the old mill for people to see what the stone grinder looks like. Sifter was playing and when he saw me came through the opening in the millstone to get a peek at me. I was able to capture this moment. You can see the rough texture of the old millstone as well as the contrast of that rough texture with the soft fur of Sifter the cat!!
