Saving Mankind by Sabrina K. Wheeler
Originally, drawn with wax pastels in 1999, I have photographed this art and further worked it digitally to enhance its impressionistic quality. My original intention was to depict how women are often the main support and counsel of those around them. Many times it is work and dedication performed in silence and often without recognition or appreciation. These days it has taken on a different meaning. I see it more as a representation of a shift in mankind's mindset as guided by deeper spirituality and critical awareness. It is a lifting that can translate into greater compassion, understanding, and love for self, others, animals, and all life which connects us in this . . . our precious world.
