Description
Sockeye salmon spawning from the Pacific Ocean in the late summer return to their fresh water birthplace. For these fish, the birthplace is the Fulton spawning grounds in northern British Columbia, Canada. The fish are so thick it's easy to see how the phrase "you could walk across the river on their backs" came about. It's a life cycle that has been occurring for thousands of years.
