Description
Autumn is the season when Canada Gees flock together in a safe refuge during the fall for the long southward flight in their annual migration; it is part of the North American natural landscape. This scene is the Grand River, a World Heritage site that flows through Southern Ontario where we grew up as kids spending endless days exploring and swimming and creating a respect for natural environments like this. Today the area is laced with trails and connects to the North American walking trail system. During a year where autumn seem to last and last I often walked this area and finally got around to capture it in this oil painting.

Gorgeous painting - I love the composition with that leaning tree at a diagonal and the geese coming in at a subtly opposing diagonal. Such a quiet, reflective mood here. My DFM&N for March 22.
