Three and a half miles north of Baxter Springs, Kansas stands the elegant Brush Creek Bridge also called the Rainbow Bridge, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The short stretch of US-66 in Kansas retains much of the character of the Mother Road. It passes through Baxter Springs, Riverton and Galena in Cherokee County.
