UNFRAMED 24" x 18" OIL PAINTING, $400. FOR INQUIRIES OR PURCHASE PLEASE CLICK THE CONTACT BUTTON. This is the kind of kid I grew up with -- tough ranch girls who could ride before they could walk. Here she's out with her family in the Cedar Breaks trying to head off two strays before they vanish down the draw where her horse can't follow. Though some of the cowboys are far ahead, this little cowgirl's mother is no doubt keeping an eye on her from her own mount not far away. On a more recent roundup when I was helping neighbors, we were all galloping full-bore across the sagebrush to head some cattle away from a bog. My friend's 5-year-old son kept right along with us, till suddenly his cinch busted, and the kid rode the saddle through the air and landed atop a sagebrush with his feet still in the stirrups. He grinned up at us, "Hey, Mom, that was fun! Can I do that again?"

Cute story and one so close to my heart, Dawn. Fortunately my saddle cinch never broke but I did have a time managing my little Mustang horse that sometime had a mind of his own - and I love him dearly! I really believed that he was teasing me! He also saved me from quicksand!
