a lifetime of desire measured out in pixels
as palpable as if we were conjoined
i burned for your rough love
joan surcingled to the stake
not for god but for passion
and the power that flowed
a current undaunted by distance

and when you cut the cord
throwing my world into the void
nothing remained but the echoes
of a love stillborn
now all is silent
there is no king in my jungle
i burn only in my dreams
