Description
This tree is a beatiful example of Ficus macrophylla "Columnaris" a type of Ficus tree that grows roots up high in columns. The more moister the roots get, the higher the columns. I took this particular panorama at Balboa Park in San Diego. The roots of this tree though are babies compared to some in the park that are close to 100 years old. Their root columns can stand as tall as an average human.
