in the Blue Ridge Mountains,
captured at Mont Le Conte
at dawn.
The lodge is accessed
by hiking up the Appalachian Trail
from Newfound Gap,
or the Alum Cave Trail
in Tennessee,
or from the trail at Gatlinburg...
The cabins are rustic
and charming, each one
with a wooden slat-board
front porch.
There are rocking chairs
where one can sit a spell
and enjoy the quiet
and beauty of the Smoky Mountains.
The camaraderie is wonderful
at the lodge,
the food is terrific,
and the hike
is well-worth the experience!
