Description
Part of the magic of working in pen and ink is the way the image begins to emerge out of the void. It is much like water color in that you have to think ahead, the image preforms in your mind before going down onto paper. Using an economy of line walks the exciting tight rope between the expressed and the unexpressed. I find it also an appropriate style to use when rendering historic subject matter. The moment has passed, it's history and only a ghost remains.

Something we have in common, Lenore, my father's mother was an early adventurous driver too. She was a Michigan farm girl who drove down to Chicago in a model T. She was the first woman driver in Chicago.
