... A smoky mist floats
over the river
early in the morning
just after dawn....
Mysterious and quiet,
the forest is engulfed
by the high water
after the long Spring rains...
Walk with me on the river walk...
Follow the trail
along the Valley River
in the Blue Ridge
Appalachian Mountains.
This is full summer when the trees and foliage are in brilliant lush greens. The long wooden walkway beckons the stroller to dawdle for a bit, enjoy the cool morning mountain air, listen to the birds singing in the trees and the moist kiss of misty fog on the slow stream as it meanders toward the Hiwassee River... Murphy, North Carolina...
