Description
I was kayaking around the lake early on the morning of August 19th and I decided that this older, aluminum boat would be a good pair for the blue boat that I had painted earlier in the summer. One never knows just where or when you will find inspiration. I constucted the painting so that there were many leading lines that guided the eye into the boat and fewer lines leading away. The wooden dock was in worse condition than the boat. It was fun!
The lily pads and random splotches of brilliant colour are stepping stones into the red boat - that is largely orange and bare aluminum from wear - the way a boat should be.
