A view 90% of the Petrified Forest visitors never see. The wildnerness area of the Painted Desert. Petrified logs tumble down hills after eroding out of the Black Forest Bed within the Chinle Formation. These logs are approximately 210 million years old.
This image was created during my tenure as resident artist in the "Artist in Residence" program at Petrified Forest National Park.
