Description
The view of Peter and Paul Cathedral, St Petersburg, Russia.
Peter the Great founded the city of St. Petersburg in 1703 and the very first building to be constructed was the Peter and Paul Fortress.
In the middle of the fortress stands the impressive Peter and Paul Cathedral, the burial place of all the Russian Emperors and Empresses from Peter the Great to Alexander III. The Cathedral was the first church in the city to be built of stone (1712-1733) and its design is curiously unusual for a Russian Orthodox Church.
On top of the cathedral's gilded spire stands a magnificent golden angel holding a cross. This weathervane is one of the most prominent symbols of St Petersburg, and at 404 feet tall, the cathedral is the highest building in the city.

That's a great capture of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, Elena ~~ your process of bringing out the gold of the spires is amazing! v

I really like your texture work on this lovely shot Elena. After reading your description I tried using the magnify facility to see the Angel, but unfortunately it's right in the center and I get the see just the edge.
Elena Nosyreva replied:
Thank you Linda, yes, unfortunately the weathervane angel was in a wrong plane.
