Description
The second of two "maestas", uses the iconic structure of Madonna and child borrowed from medieval altarpieces. The term maesta, means majesty, creating a throne for the figures. I've depicted a modern-day metaphor, annointing the Farberware percolators via halos enthroned on a vintage white leather chair, in front of a gleaming gold wall on a pink shag rug. The 60s floral print apron acts as both a backdrop and suggests something greater.
