Nestled under his mommy's chest, this owl is warm and safe, under her wings. The drawing was done with Micron permanent technical pens, sizes .005 and 08. All parts I wanted to stand out we're first tangled. Y using repetitive patterns with the ink pens. When all tangling/doodling was finished I let the ink "cure" overnight, then began painting.
Inktense pencils that turn into permanent ink when touched with water, were used to add several layers of color. Each layer becomes more dense and deepens the intensity of color.
Some people apply the pencil directly to the surface to be painted. I find that using an aqua brush is easier for me to layer the colors and blend the various hues. Instead of applying pencil to the painting, I touch the aqua brush to the pencil, then transfer color to the design.
