Description
A visitor to Laura Plantation is fortunate to be able to experience viewing several existing slave quarter cabins still on the property. These continued to be occupied until as late as 1977.
It is significant because Alcée Fortier, who later became Professor of Romance Languages and folklore at Tulane University, was said to have collected Louisiana Creole versions of the West African Br'er Rabbit stories here in the 1870s.
Interesting, too, that the family of recording artist, Fats Domino, once lived here.

Mick, Thanks! It was a fine line about how much detail to leave inside, so I'm glad to hear that my editing was effective. Appreciate the F/V!

What a great window shot!! Just enough detail inside and a perfect view to the outside. Nicely done :) F/V
