Description
This is a bright green closeup of the ripe grapes growing on one of the vines at the winery. This was at Old York Cellars in the Ringoes section of East Amwell Township, New Jersey, located in Hunterdon County. It was first planted in 1978 when it was formerly known as Amwell Valley Vineyard. Old York Cellars opened to the public in 2010. They have 12 acres of grapes and produce 3,600 cases of wine each year. It is named for the road it is located on. They produce wines from the following grapes: Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cayuga White, Chardonnay, Chenin blanc, Colobel, Landot noir, Malbec, Marechal Foch, Merlot, Pinot gris, Riesling, Seyval blanc, Syrah, Vidal blanc, and Vignoles. They also make fruit wines from peaches and blackberries. They have a themed line of wines called "What Exit Wines" that raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. They are the only winery in New Jersey that produces wines from the Colobel grape.
