I love the context here - the lanterns on the wall, the shelf or workbench, the basins on the floor, the partial door open to reveal the room - so much space devoted to the environment. Yet the direct gaze of the worker is compelling enough to balance it and leave no doubt that this is a portrait of an older and probably tired but proud man. Very nice work.
