Curtis Farm and Silos
The Jack Curtis farm scene in this image is no more. The land was bought by the University of Georgia in 2013. The barns, sheds and silos must have been a liability so they have been torn down except the small one in the rear. Jack Curtis would put a huge star on top of the big silos for people to see from far away. I am taking this image from Hwy 15 and this is the distance people could see the star from as they passed by at Christmas time. What great memories. The famous Iron Horse statue stands on the slight hill just out of view to the left in this image. The field is gently sloping and roundish in shape and an irrigation system waters it and can be seen running up the hill to the left. Enjoy!!!
