Description
A watercolor (9 x 12 inches) on Arches w/c paper that I have painted after the photos I made in a SUMMER trip far up Northern Quebec tundra, in the Indian reservation. I was there with 3 friends, an artist (Clement), a fisherman Stefan) and a local guide (Basil). My friends caught some trout, I caught a cold and made a few watercolors and lots of photos... At night, even if in August, the temperatures dropped under 0 degrees Celsius! During the day, at noon, one could bath in the lake or, maybe, even in this river. Beautiful landscapes. Once we even heard a faraway shot. For the rest of the time, we were the only people on a radius of, I suppose, 50 miles or so. My skin was all goosebumps at the thought that I got lost over there...and I was frozen by the thought only that you could be there in winter...Aiaiaiai!

Brilliant work, Ion. So vibrant. I like the way you've captured the feel of modern First Nation painting in the horizontal strip one third of the way up. A favourite.

Many thanks, Odd! I am like the Bourgeois Gentlemen of Molière: if I did what you say I did it instinctively , without knowing... Instincts are good, most of the time, I asume...

Thanks, Sharon! I am not sure it was aurora borealis(not North enough I think) but sure the lights and the colors were special. I am very pleased you like it! Thanks, again!

Now that is a difficult feat and you've done it beautifully. I tried it once. Ion I just love this. You got beautiful reflective color on the trees and in the water. I saw the aroura borealis when we were in alaska. It seemed God was pouring colors from heaven. Breathtaking my friend. V/F
