This original painting is from my photo reference taken in Florence, Italy, in Nov. 2012. It represents three of the four marble horses from Neptune's Fountain, started in the 16th century. The horses seem to be springing out of the water as the sun creates a wonderful play of light and shadows on their marble surface.
