Description
Every person born on the American continent (America) is rightfully own and inalienable, American. Not only those born in one of the three North American countries, and much less those born in the United States "of America".
The term "native American" is used at present for the few indigenous groups that survive in the United States. Native American is any aborigine born on this continent, no matter where they live.
Panamanian native Ngave-bugle, Chiriqui province, to the West, produced this collar (circular) with little beads of stone, ceramic or glass for use of the chieftain (Cacique, little King).
Which are more narrow and end at triangles can be used by women. The colors sometimes indicate the specific region where it was made. In the 1970s some species of open collars were made to bring the young men with the same technique. In Panama to this craft is called CHAQUIRA. That is the name of the little beads that made the necklace.
Nation Sioux-Lakota from United States made something too similar to Panamanian Chaquira. Since they were culturized by French nuns past century, and Panamanian Chanquiras could be dated 1890, we think one nun passed first by Panama and then to United States after learn to do Chaquiras.
Specific Chaquira was given by a Cacique to my grandfather on 1940. Was created to the great grand father of these Cacique, so, could indicate a 1890 hand craft. Vegetal fiber is used, not nylon.
