Myassa Police's delinquency woes reach new highs.
On February 23, a youth was caught putting dish washing detergent into the fountain in front of the Town Hall/Myassa Liquors Bar and Grill Building. January 31st another youth was found raising a pair of girl's thongs and a falsy stuffed 34DD brassiere on the flag pole at Myassa High School. Still another was discovered tipping cattle at the Dingle-Berry-Pickens public picking farm in Early January. The Mayor himself saw three young people spray painting gang symbols which resemble the Mercedes Benz emblem on an abandoned railroad car mired in a swamp in the Myassa National Old Growth Kudzu Forest.
We must take action to prevent this form of behavior. Our juvenile facilities have reached maximum capacity but there seems to be no abatement in the youth population who are discovered performing delinquent activities. We propose that an after-school program be initiated to prevent this.
A police department mentoring program would be of great utility to help these misguided young people. The police would be the ideal mentors because they know all the tricks to avoid being caught performing delinquent acts. By teaching them to avoid detection, we foresee a drop in the juvenile detention population and a reduction in expenses to support the juvenile facility. These funds may then be used to redecorate Our Mayoral office.

Heehee! When I read the first paragraph, I thought that this would be a great intro to a monster logic problem the answer of which would match up the delinquent with the crime. But the creative proposed strategy for reducing crime statistics was cool, too!

The mentoring program makes sense Jim. We have a similar system in N.Z. that involves simply letting offenders off, but your plan avoids the bother of catching them in the first place. Bravo! L/f

I worked in delinquency prevention for about seven years. We regularly discussed such a program. I once developed a grant proposal to nuke the entire lot of them. I'm positive it would have worked for a while.
