Mt. Rainier is an active volcano and resides inside Mt. Rainier National Park. Once inside the park you can drive for hundreds of miles and see glimpses of the mountain, pristine rivers and lakes, colorful wild flowers, and douglas fir trees. This National Park is amazing.

This photograph was captured just after sunrise from the Sunrise Visitors Center at about 6400 foot elevation. The prior night brought rain, clouds, some wind, and intermittent lightening. My effort to shoot the stars and milky way was a bust, and this photograph of the mountain came out spectacular. If you need a cool landscape for your wall, a dentist or doctors office, or bulding lobby, this one leaves the viewer with a sense of beauty, strength, and peace.
