Here are some informations about the history of the Castle.

The Castle of Burgdorf, Switzerland, was built in year 1200 AC, by Berthold V, Duke of Zaehringen. It is made of stone. (Burgdorf is the largest city in the Emmental in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It was the capital of the district of the same name until 2010, when it became part of the new Emmental district.)

The Burgdorf Castle, with its mighty towers, is the architectural landmark of the city on the Emme, is also a valuable architectural monument and a destination of national significance. The Zaehringer fortified houses three museums (Castle Museum, Helvetic Gold Museum and Museum of Ethnology), and the Castle Rock offers beautiful days views, ranging from the Bernese Alps and the Jura.
