Description
Sunset in the Bunya Mountains. In winter here we get real extremes of temperatures - in the high 20s C (high 80s F) but the nights drop down to below freezing. The warmth goes so fast when the sun drops below the horizon. The rapidly cooling air as the sun sets causes swathes of glowing mist to rise out of the valley below. This night, storm clouds gathered overhead and were turned a weird pink purple by the setting sun. The silhouette of the distinctive Bunya Pine can be seen rising out of the valley also.
