Description
This is a Christmas card in my Waltham, Massachusetts collection of prints. The series is called "My memories of Waltham". Woolworth's was a popular store because it had so many memorable things. I particularly loved the counter at the luncheonett that served the "best" icream sundae's in tulip glasses that I shared with my beloved mother.

Congratulations Rita, this brings back memories of my childhood, and walking to the mall to shop in Woolworths.

Rita, This one certainly brings back some fond memories for me,and probably other people too. I loved going to the local 5 & Dime near my home to spend what little change had come into my possession when I was a child. You could find just about anything there - all arranged in bins. What great browsing! Their lunch counter was fun too for sundaes and sodas. Voted & my selection for discussion today in the Memories & Nostalgia Group.

Cheri: Thank you for your sharing your nice memories. It's funny how so many people have memories of these little stores. But, that was once upon a time. Many years ago. I will for your comments in today's discussion in M&N Group.

Rita-Love Woolworth's painting ..Where was it located ??? Me being from Watertown, I Know ours was in the square.... There used to be one in Concord Center ..The best hot dogs in town were served at the lunch counter, But you had to keep ducking your head while you ate because the high school kids would come in and let the canaries out of their cages and they would dive bomb the lunch counter..Merry Christmas..Jack

Thank you, Jack! Woolworth's was a block up from Grover Cronin. My card brought back lots of memories for people. Merry Christmas! Sure wish you came to one of my showing and fairs. Maybe we can do a show or fair together this summer. Think about it! R
