Description
While visiting my son, Marcus, in Orlando, I noticed one of his beautiful oak trees in his front yard. Since I seem to be into painting oaks lately, I parked my van out front by the curb. I sat in the tailgate with my painting equipment all around me. It was a relatively warm day. The shade from all the many trees around provided some comfort. He has a corner lot. In both directions, he has gorgeous lush parks full of trees, shrubs, birds, animals, bridges, flowers, and so much beauty. The vibes are so healthy and peaceful.
It rained a couple times while I painted. Each time that I put away my painting and took down my easel, the rain ceased. I guess that it meant that I needed to take a break from my painting for a few moments.
This is an old neighborhood. The trees are big and ancient. This one is covered with a variety of mosses and vines. While I painted, a woodpecker, a blue jay and a cardinal stopped by to watch me. I enjoyed hearing their songs and calls.
This tree has a big swing on the long limb to the left. It was out of the frame of my view so I didn't put it in, of course. Perhaps, another day, I will have to paint it from that vantage point? It is such a huge tree that I could happily do a few paintings of it.

Dear AnnaJo, I always learn so much from your Behind-the -scenes BUZzz. I love how you shared your liberal use of colour with us. Often, plein aire painters try to capture the EXACT colours of Nature rather than intuitively paint by warmth and coolness, FEELING their way by physical sight rather than the Magic of intuitive sight. The MAGIC of accidental misplacements and value study is an arena in which you excel. I find your work GLOWs in spectral Light of soul rather than …merely exists…in its physical beauty! This is one of my favs…I love cool tones…magnificent!
