Well, the scene certainly is thought provoking.

Marsha Elliott replied:

This was a scene from a museum in Lima Peru as part of the Spanish Inquisition. Such a somber place.

I am so sorry this has earned an appearance as subject matter. I think there are many animals that would do a better job than we are. But, given that, you did an excellent job here. The colors and the composition are excellent.

Marsha Elliott replied:

It's a rather strange subject to paint....especially for me, but some events should never be forgotten. Thank you for commenting.

I think you should enter this in competition. This is awesome on so many levels Marsha. First of all the warm and cool color contrast bring life to a very dead subject matter and make me think of the bones as very flesh and blood at one time. I see the souls because of the color you used. As well, the light source is consistent. The middle ground with dark shadowy bone is beautifully subtle. I would normally not be attracted to such a piece but this one is hauntingly beautiful. I really think you need to look for competitions outside of FAA to compete with this one.

Marsha Elliott replied:

Thanks so much, Sandra, for such a detailed comment
