Description
Sulphur Mountain is located in the Bow River Valley ,east of Sundance Creek and west of the Spray River;and north of Vermilion Lakes. It's the eastern end of Sundance Pass, in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. From the town of Banff, one can take a gondola ride to the summit, 2451m (8042ft.) above sea level, for an amazing view of the Bow River Valley and the vast ranges of the Rocky Mountains which surround it on all sides. The Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, both winged and four-footed. Sometimes,if all goes perfectly well, a majestic bald eagle will drop around to survey his domain.

A little about me:
I'm Canadian, born and raised in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, with a long career in radar, communications, and computers.Retired at 74. Scion of a Grand Banks schooner captain and a merchant mariner,I love the ocean. I started using 35mm.color in 1950.Favourite camera was an Exakta Varex.Switched to digital around 1998. My favourite themes are the sea, oceans, coastal, villages, water, lakes, mountains, wildlife, sky, clouds, flowers, forests, the National Parks such as Cape Breton Highlands, Waterton, Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Glacier, Mt. Robson, Kootenay, Strathcona, historic sites, Nova Scotia, nature, scenery, landscapes, seascapes, birds and many more. I've written magazine illustrating them with my own photos. I love photographing whatever appeals to me or happens to catch my eye. Almost all of my images are of Canada, though I probably specialize more on the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts and the western mountains. But you'll find an assortment from the whole country, including some from several years in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions back in the 1950's and 60's. I hope some of you will get some enjoyment from my efforts. Constructive comments and suggestions are always welcome.

George, What a great shot of the eagle posing for you!
George Cousins replied:
Many thanks Aaron, I'd already taken one shot and then he appeared out of nowhere! Sometimes it's really a stroke of luck!
