The Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis)
The Canada lynx's diet is almost
exclusive to and dependent on snowshoe

hunt medium-sized mammals and birds if

long whiskers on the face.
Their body color varies from medium
brown, to goldish, to beige-white,
and is occasionally marked with dark
brown spots, especially on the limbs.
All species of lynx also have whiteish
fur on their chests, bellies and on
the insides of their legs.
Also, the lynx's coloring, fur height
as the lynx ranges to its colder
northern climates, the fur gets progressively
thicker for warmth, the color gets lighter
for camouflage and its padded paws enlarge and
become more padded for snowy environments.
Although the lynx is now listed as a federally threatened species
, winter snow track surveys show there are good numbers of
lynx in Montana. "Montana supports the healthiest Lynx population
in the lower 48 states.Montana Lynx ecology is
subsequently different than those populations further north
with average home ranges nearly twice the size of those found in the north.

A lovely "portrait ", Wildlife! She (I'm assuming) looks so calm! I hope the hare population doesn't dwindle too much, so she can remain fed ... I'm surprised the diet is so exclusive; another stellar capture!;))
