Description
LOW TIDE AT LEO CARILLO by Lynn Bauer - The tide is low and water has receded from the rugged coastline at Leo Carillo Beach, just north of Malibu in Southern California. A small seagull sits atop the bluff. This is a beach that is well-known for it's tidal pools when the surf is out. Many times I come here there are bus loads of school children who have come to search among the rocks for sea anemones and starfish...and, whatever other treasures they may dig up! A lone life guard station sits on the bluff above where they watch not only the people scavenging the shoreline below, but also the surfers and others who are riding the waves beyond the rocks. This is a very busy area along Highway 1...both for the day trippers and for campers alike!
