Description
July is the beginning of monsoon season in South Korea -- and the time of year when the lotus flowers begin to bloom. These particular lotuses are flowering on the eaves of the Jogyesa Temple in Seoul. They are the Buddhist symbol of purity because they can bloom in the muddiest water and yet remain untainted, and they are also the symbol of birth and creation.
