Description
Photograph of a photogenic bald cypress turning colors during Fall, usually the third week of November in the Texas Hill Country. Taken at the Pedernales River where it winds through Pedernales River State Park, located roughly 45 minutes west of Austin, in the Texas Hill Country. A 1/4 mile hike will take you to the parking lot to this scenic overlook. This is an area of the river where it is forbidden to swim or wade, since the river can flash flood without a warning, even in nice weather. The river drops about 50 feet over a distance of 3000 feet and the cascading falls are formed by the water running on the layered limestone.
I made this image during late Fall, when the oaks, bald cypresses, and sycamore are ablaze with deep oranges, red, and ocher colors. Thanks for looking.
