Description
Acrylic and Charcoal on Hardboard with wood mounting.10"x16" 150www.mellonfineart.comABOUT SERIES:We are a race guided by emotion and by instinct, programmed by millions of years of evolution. We have conquered, murdered and divided each other in the names of progress and brotherhood, but have never really understood the true idea of such things. We have created feats of architecture and technology that stands the test of time, yet so many of our race fall in bewilderment of what we truly are. We continue to grow as a race and evolve to what only the future can tell. We live our life as human, but we are only Human as we know it. The new series of paintings, Life as Human, or Human as We Know it is grouping of works on Hardboard ranging in size from 48x38 to small paintings on 4x5 wood blocks. Consisting of abstracted portraits of human emotion and scenes of societal collapse, a theme that seems to continue to reoccur throughout history, following a theme which most of my work is built on, existence, perception, reality and the human condition. Viewers and visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to Own a Piece of Humanity. Each of the works on small wood blocks are priced at only five dollars so they can be more accessible and affordable to everyone. The idea of the small pieces on wood are to create a disappearance of humanity effect during the exhibition. The intention is for all the small works to be gone by the end of the show. Photo Documentation will be taken to illustrate the disappearance. Life is essentially a series of moments that string together to create a whole. I like to see these abstract portraits as tiny snap shots of these characters lives. Brief moments of the unknown. The exhibition is a reflection of our humanness and the kindred spirits of man. We hope everyone can come together to the exhibit to create conversation and stories for themselves of the portraits and visions, because after all, reality only belongs
