Description
This painting was executed in a traditional way with a grisaille layer. My focus was to have a great contrast going between pure whites and strong dark. I had just visited the Turner exhibit at the Grand Palais in Paris, this work is an homage to William Turner. I used many layers of glazing over the grisaille. A peaceful scene, an eclectic environment full of antiques and things all mixed up in an old house in Paris, and an old man simply enjoying a great book.
The original art was a commissioned piece and is therefore already SOLD. Original oil on linen canvas Size: 60 cm x 73 cm or 23.5" x 29".
