Description
This Contemporary painting is about our collective journey in this world. Global and individual conflict could learn from these two bird characters. True peace and understanding can only occur ,when the parties involved, truly listen to each other.Peaceful resolution can only happen when the parties show respect for the others views, this especially so, when they have different points of view. Restraint can be shown by a practiced lack of verbal or physical attack and then followed by the soothing first words, "Lets Talk". The two peace seeking animals are surrounded by corn and squash. These are two basic food staples, and also symbolize a gathered or store of " food for thought". In the background a flock of sheep is peacefully grazing and is unaware of the conflict. But they are providing a calm serene location for talkingThe blue sky has only a hint of low clouds near the horizone. So fair weather is the order of the day and friendlyagreement will be the end result. In the forground two beasts of burden carry the two main characters. Only their eyes betray the fact that they are active listeners and are very much aware of what is being said by the two birds.

Poem "Lets Talk" 2016 all copyrights Susan Brown
We tramped the meadow together
But we were far, far, apart in heart-
We were looking for peace
That's what we said, " at least"!
But the sky got caught in your eyes
For awhile it looked like rain
"Crying over spilt milk" blame
A meadow lizzard scurried into a cold, pain, place
Shadows of treason flickered across your face
A screaming ,scolding, squirrel on a high throne
Reasoning "Who threw the first stone?
"Lets Talk ". Susan Brown Slizys 20016 all copy rights
