Description
'The Lenten Prayer of St. Ephrem the Syrian' is a part of the Byzantine rite used by churches within the Eastern Orthodox tradition during Lent. Tradition ascribes the prayer to the highly regarded teacher, Saint Ephrem the Syrian who died in 373 AD. The prayer's influence now extends beyond the Byzantine rite, finding its way into liturgical and devotional expressions among Protestants and Catholics.
